This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to notify stakeholders of amendments to the Australian phytosanitary treatment application standard for cold disinfestation treatment and the related performance standards.

This notice is of interest to importers and customs brokers of used vehicles that seek to have these vehicles cleaned by an offshore cleaning and pre-inspection provider recognised by the department.
The Recognised Offshore Cleaning and Pre-inspection Provider (ROCIP) Scheme allows used vehicles to be cleaned and pre-inspected by approved offshore cleaning and pre-inspection providers.
All clients attempting to submit permit applications and access invoices using the Department’s Biosecurity Import Conditions System (BICON) during this planned outage.
All clients who will be required to make an online payment during this planned outage.
All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned outage.

As of 1 December 2023, after a 30-year tenure with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Dr Mark Schipp will be retiring from the Australian Public Service.
