121-2022: Launch of Biosecurity Portal in Victoria – you can now book your import inspection requests online

Who does this notice affect?

Approved arrangements operators, customs brokers, importers, and freight forwarders, wishing to create and manage requests for import inspection at sites in Victoria can book them via the new Biosecurity Portal from Wednesday 20 July 2022.

Additionally, from Wednesday 20 July 2022 any requests for import inspections at Victoria sites still using the Request for Inspection (RFI) form should be emailed to the new email address (see below).

Who does this notice affect?

This notice is of interest to all vessel masters and shipping agents who represent international commercial vessels for the purposes of biosecurity reporting for arrival in Australian territory.

What has changed?

Biosecurity directions and advice for livestock vessels are changing in the Maritime Arrivals Reporting System’s (MARS), with revised Biosecurity Status Document (BSD) conditions.

BSD directions will include requirements for:

2022-07: Changes to applying for Declaration and Certificate as to Condition (EX188B) to export honey and bee products

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise that export certification for honey and bee products to additional countries will be transitioned to the Next Export Documentation System (NEXDOC) from 28 July 2022. Manual certification applications will no longer be available for these markets.
