Who does this notice affect?

All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned maintenance period.

All shipping agents or operators of maritime conveyances who will be required to report pre-arrival information during this planned maintenance period.

All clients who will be required to make an online payment during this planned maintenance period.

109-2021: Commencement of revised emergency measures for the bacterial pathogen Xylella in imported nursery stock hosts

Who does this notice affect?

This notice is of interest to importers and their customs brokers of nursery stock, including tissue cultures, budwood, cuttings and rooted plants.

What has changed?

The purpose of this notification is to advise stakeholders that the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (the department) has implemented further actions to manage the risk of the bacterial pathogen, Xylella in imported nursery stock.

Who does this notice affect?

Stakeholders in the import and shipping industries—including Master Consolidators, vessel masters, freight forwarders, treatment providers, Biosecurity Industry Participants, importers, customs brokers, and principal agents— associated with shipping or importing goods that require increased intervention during the 2020-21 BMSB risk season.

What has changed?

On 1 June 2021, the department will cease it measures for the 2020-21 BMSB risk season.
