National Farm Safety Week

National Farm Safety Week is an annual national campaign focused on promoting safety behaviour and practices and reducing injuries and deaths on Australian farms.

With one of the highest fatality rates of any industry in Australia, the agriculture, fisheries and forestry sector experiences 9.2 deaths per 100,000 workers, according to Safe Work Australia’s Key Work Health and Safety Statistics 2024.

2021-40: Horticulture– End of winter window pathway (1 May to 1 September 2021) for cucurbit exports to New Zealand

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise industry of the upcoming closure of the 2021 winter window arrangements for the export of cucurbits to New Zealand and the registration and accreditation requirements for continuing exports of cucurbits after 1 September 2021.

Who does this notice affect?

All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned maintenance period.

All shipping agents or operators of maritime conveyances who will be required to report pre-arrival information during this planned maintenance period.

All clients who will be required to make an online payment during this planned maintenance period.
