To notify exporters of new labelling requirements for dairy and other pre-packaged goods to China.

Who does this notice affect?

Approved arrangements operators who will be required to view and/or update details of their Approved Arrangement via the Approved Arrangement Management Product (AAMP).

Approved arrangements operators, customs brokers, importers, manned depots, and freight forwarders who are required to book and manage requests for inspections through the Biosecurity Portal using the ‘Sign in with your Digital Identity to access’ pathway.

IAN 26-06: European Union (EU): New EU rules on the use of antimicrobials

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise of the publication of updates to the European Union Cattle Accreditation Scheme (EUCAS) Farm, Feedlot and Saleyard Rules to meet new European Union antimicrobial resistance (AMR) requirements. These changes are necessary to maintain market access for Australian beef exports to the EU.

42-2026: Xylella emergency measures: Extension of measures to Musa sp. nursery stock

Who does this notice affect?

This notice affects importers of live plants (nursery stock), customs brokers and departmental staff.

What has changed?

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) is extending Australia’s emergency measures for the bacterial pathogen, Xylella, to a newly identified plant host imported as nursery stock.

All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned maintenance period.

All importers of plants, cats and/or dogs who will be required to use the Post Entry Biosecurity System during this planned maintenance period.

All shipping agents or operators of maritime conveyances who will be required to report pre-arrival information during this planned maintenance period.
