Mussels fishery notification — Great Swanport East biotoxin closure (2017-04)

The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (the department) has been advised by the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and the Environment (DPIPWE), Tasmania, that mussel samples from Great Swanport East have returned elevated paralytic shellfish toxin (PST) levels.

As a result of the elevated biotoxin levels DPIPWE will temporarily close Great Swanport (East) Lease numbers: 8E, 49E, 50E, 51E for the harvesting of mussels only as of 00:01 Friday 28 July 2017.

2017-01 - Seafood and Egg Export Cost Recovery Charging Arrangement Cessation of Remissions from 1 July 2017

Purpose

To advise of the cessation of the remission program for the Seafood and Egg Export Cost Recovery Arrangement (the arrangement) from 1 July 2017. Remissions currently applied to cost recovered levies for Establishment Registration and Electronic Certificates will cease from 1 July 2017.

2016-18 - Rock lobster fishery notification—Maria Island Zone open

The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (the department) has been advised by the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and the Environment (DPIPWE), Tasmania, that rock lobster analysis results from Maria Island Zone have returned paralytic shellfish toxins (PST) below regulatory levels. DPIPWE will open the Maria Island Zone for rock lobster fishing from 00:01 Sunday 11 December 2016.
