Dairy export quota TRQ categories table

This table shows the dairy export TRQ categories administered by the Department of Agriculture available under the World Trade Organization (WTO) and Australia–United States Free Trade Agreement (AUSFTA) arrangements with the US and the EU.

The information here may help exporters to understand how much extra quota they may be able to apply for in future years.

Annual increases are not available under the WTO arrangements.

Livestock

Australia is one of many countries that exports livestock by sea and air all over the world.

Our definition of livestock includes sheep, goats, cattle, deer, buffalo and camelids.

The livestock export industry provides over $1.6 billion to our economy. Many rural and regional communities rely on the trade to provide valuable income and employment to their region.

Reports to Parliament

Every six months, the minister must table in Parliament a report from the department that includes livestock mortalities on every sea voyage. The report is compiled from information provided to the department by the ships' masters, as required by the Marine Orders Part 43 under subsection 425(1AA) of the Navigation Act 1912. In accordance with the requirements of the Export Control Act 2020, the report relates only to information provided to the Secretary or a delegate during the reporting period, whether or not the voyages occurred during the reporting period.
