2015-56 - Horticulture Exports Program – Revised operational work plan for export of mango and lychee to USA

Purpose

To advise industry of the release of revised conditions for the export of mangoes and lychees from Australia to USA.

Background

The Australian Department of Agriculture and Water Resources and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) have signed the revised Pilot Audit Program for Irradiation Treatment and Certification of Mango and Lychee (Fruit) from Australia Operational Work Plan (OWP). The revised OWP is to be referred to in conjunction with conditions in the USDA Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Manual.

2015-55 - Grain and Seed Exports Program – Empty Container Standards for Export

Purpose

To remind the shipping container industry of the standards required by the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources for empty shipping containers destined for loading with consumable prescribed goods for export.

Background

At the Grain and Plant Products Export Consultative Committee meeting on the 3 September 2015, concerns were raised by members about the inconsistent condition of empty containers being presented to authorised officers for phytosanitary inspection, prior to loading with consumable prescribed goods.

2015-43 – Authorised Officer Program – Roll out of the National Documentation Hub and updates to the Plant Exports Compliance, Approval and Running Records User Guide

Purpose

To advise Authorised Officers (AOs) of the roll out of the National Documentation Hub (NDH) to the Central East Region (CER) and the key changes that will apply for CER AOs.  

Background

A recent Industry Advice Notice ( 2015/34) outlined the Department of Agriculture’s (deparment) new approach to delivering services across Australia. As part of the ongoing improvements to service delivery, the roll out of the NDH for plant export stakeholders is continuing.  

2015-38 – Horticulture Exports Program – Resumption of exports of Oranges, Mandarins and Table Grapes to Vietnam

Purpose

To advise industry that the Vietnam Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Plant Protection Department has agreed to issue import permits for Australian oranges, mandarins and table grapes following the agreement of protocol conditions.

Commencement of a pest risk analysis for the importation of fresh island cabbage from Cook Islands, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu

This Biosecurity Advice announces the formal commencement of a pest risk analysis (PRA) to assess the plant quarantine risks from the importation of fresh island cabbage from the Cook Islands, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu for human consumption.
