This Biosecurity Australia Advice (BAA) invites stakeholders to provide comments on the Draft review of policy: importation of hazelnut (Corylus species) propagative material from Chile by 11 July 2011.
Import conditions for hazelnut propagative material from Chile are available on the Biosecurity Import Conditions system (BICON).

This Biosecurity Advice notifies stakeholders of the release of the “Final pest risk analysis report for ‘Candidatus Liberibacter species’ and their vectors associated with Rutaceae”.
The final report recommends quarantine measures to import host plant material of ‘Candidatus Liberibacter species’ and the psyllids Diaphorina citri, Diaphorina communis and Trioza erytreae from countries where these pests are present
Both Taiwan and Vietnam requested market access for fresh lychee fruit in 2003. Lychees are Taiwan’s and Vietnam’s top priority horticultural market access requests to Australia. The department is now in a position to formally start this assessment.
