Horse Industry Consultative Committee
Function
The Horse Industry Consultative Committee (HICC) is the principal consultative forum for the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) to engage with industry on equine biosecurity, quarantine and market access issues, and related animal health and welfare matters.
Aim
The aim of HICC is to facilitate effective consultation, communication and partnerships between the department and industry stakeholders in order to:
Horticulture Export Industry Consultative Committee (HEICC)
The role and purpose of the Horticulture Exports Industry Consultative Committee (the committee) is to provide a forum for the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry to consult with the industries involved in the export of horticulture products. Within the framework of government policies and legislation delivered by us that relate to the export inspection and certification, the committee is the primary consultation body to:
Grain and Plant Products Export Industry Consultative Committee (GPPEICC)
Terms of Reference
As at 28 July 2025
1. Purpose
To provide a principal forum for the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (department) to consult with the industries involved in the export of grain and plant products.
2. Aims
The Committee aims to provide assurance for exporters and other stakeholders involved in the preparation of grain and plant products for exports, that their views are given due consideration before the introduction of any major policy or operational changes by the department.
Export Meat Industry Advisory Committee (EMIAC) Finance Subcommittee
The Export Meat Industry Advisory Committee (EMIAC) Finance Subcommittee, formally known as AQIS/Industry Task Force, was formed in September 1997 as a result of an agreement between the meat processing industry and the Government as part of the AQIS meat inspection reforms.
Export Meat Industry Advisory Committee (EMIAC)
The Export Meat Industry Advisory Committee (EMIAC) was created in the 1960s as a consultative body between the export meat industry and the Australian Government. EMIAC still retains the same role today.
