Ministers’ Communique – Viticulture and Wine Sector Working Group

Ministers acknowledged the difficulties many wine grape growers and the broader Australian wine and grape sector are facing due to the oversupply of red wine grapes. This is a result of a range of factors including changing consumer preferences and trade disruptions, and has come at a time when the industry was dealing with a range of external threats, such as COVID-19 and natural disasters.

Who does this notice affect?

All first point of entry airport corporations, airlines, port operators, vessel agents and crew associated with international aircraft and vessels arriving from Indonesia.

What has changed?

A revised risk assessment has determined that the foot and mouth disease (FMD) situation in Indonesia has stabilised and is comparable to the situation in other countries where FMD is present.

Attention

Registered eggs exporters, manufacturers, agents, freight forwarders, approved export permit issuers and EDI users.

Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) - Central and Regional offices.

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise exporters of planned outages for the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) Next Export Documentation (NEXDOC) system.

Who does this notice affect?

All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned maintenance period.

All clients who will be required to make an online payment during this planned maintenance period.

All importers of plants, cats and/or dogs who will be required to use the Post Entry Biosecurity System during this planned maintenance period.

Who does this notice affect?

Approved arrangements operators, customs brokers, importers, manned depots, and freight forwarders who will be required to book and manage requests for import inspections using the Biosecurity Portal during this scheduled maintenance window. 

All users of the Seasonal Pests (SeaPest) system.

Due to scheduled system maintenance, the following departmental systems will experience an outage between 22:00 Tuesday 04 June and 02:00 Wednesday 05 June 2024 (AEST):
