Applications for the meat inspector traineeship are now open!

Are you looking for skills that will set you up for success in the meat export industry?

Applications for our meat inspector traineeship are now open.

This is your chance to build a career in the Australian Public Service (APS) and gain valuable on the job experience in the meat export industry.

You will receive hands-on training and support from workplace coaches and mentors while working towards a Certificate IV in Meat Safety Inspections building a strong foundation for your career in the APS.

As a trainee, you will learn practical skills such as meat inspection techniques, food animal disease identification and hygiene standards.

Sara worked as a meat inspector, before stepping into her current role as export meat team leader. Sara conducted post-mortem inspections and verified meat exports.

“I find meaning in the purpose that our role supports the bigger picture and contributes to the safe export of meat.

“Renumeration, stability and constant hours tick the boxes for me, as they complement my busy family life with 3 children.”
