The Commonwealth Ombudsman has now completed an investigation into the Department of Agriculture’s handling of an ongoing investigation into bovine serum imports.
The Ombudsman found that no further investigation into the complaint was warranted.
The Ombudsman further found that:
- the information available did not indicate the actions or decisions of any departmental officers led to defective outcomes
- it is reasonable for the department to contact third parties as part of the normal investigative process.
All other matters relating to Department of Agriculture’s investigation into bovine serum imports are the subject of ongoing investigation.
The department is unable to comment further on ongoing investigations.
