The first group of events funded through the $1.5 million Agritech Events Sponsorship Program has today been announced by AgriFutures Australia.

The program supports Australian agritech events that highlight agricultural innovation and trade opportunities.

Assistant Secretary at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Alison Curran, said agritech events enable industry to promote Australia’s world-renowned expertise in innovation, sustainability, and research.

“These grants are a great opportunity for regional Australian communities and agritech developers to showcase their innovations and technology,” Ms Curran said.

“They recognise the unique contribution agritech makes to the agriculture sector.

“Innovation will help us to capitalise on the significant opportunities that exist for our agriculture sector – new products, new markets, new avenues for value add and more sustainable practices.”

The successful recipients of this grant round have been selected for events being held in the 2023–24 financial year. The events include:

  • Digital Agrifood Summit
  • SparkLabs Cultiv8 2023 Clean Technology Showcase
  • Australian National Field Days
  • FoodTech Tasmania Industry Demo, Investor Sneak Peak, Demo Day Showcase
  • Dairy Robots Demystified
  • AGtivate Regional Innovation series
  • Gatton AgTech Showcase.

The Agritech Event Sponsorship Program is part of the Australian Government’s $12.3 million investment in regional trade events, which includes $2 million dedicated specifically for agritech events.
