Overview
This project redeveloped the CSIRO Sample Tracking and Reporting System (STARS) network. This aimed to enhance biosecurity and laboratory management system interoperability at both national and jurisdictional levels.
The enhanced STARS network led to an improved national coordination of disease testing and surveillance to most of Australia’s government animal health laboratories (integration to some labs remains ongoing).
Upgrades in technology and enhanced code performance ensures the system can support diverse datasets and handle large amount of data. This expands the capabilities of the system to ensure it will perform as expected during an outbreak.
The expanded capabilities of the new STARS system ensure easier and more efficient deployment pathways. This allows existing and new users a streamlined path to integration.
