IAN 2023-27: Updated dairy category codes and establishment registered operations for export manufacturers

Date of issue: 20 July 2023

Date of effect: 31 July 2023

Attention

  • Industry bodies, Dairy Export Industry Consultative Committee
  • Registered dairy exporters, manufacturers, agents, freight forwarders, and automated export permit issuers
  • State regulatory authorities
  • Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) – Central and Regional offices

Purpose

  • To advise dairy stakeholders that the following updated codes will take effect within the next export documentation (NEXDOC) and establishment registration (ER) systems from 31 July 2023:
    • registered operation codes for dairy export manufacturers
    • dairy category codes including:
      • prescribed goods under Australian export legislation
      • products prescribed by an importing country
      • non-prescribed goods with a minor dairy component and non-bovine products (documentation issued through NEXDOC).

Key points

The department has implemented the following changes after conducting a thorough review:

  1. Changes to registered operation codes for dairy export manufacturers:
    • The revised registered operations for dairy export manufacturers are now in effect.
    • We have made final adjustments to these registered operations, at Attachment 1.
    • This list contains definitions, key changes, and associated product types and category codes.
    • If any changes were necessary for your current dairy export registration, you will receive an updated certificate of registration from 1 September 2023.
  2. Updates to product category codes:
    • The updated product category codes, at Attachment 2, we will be available for use in NEXDOC from 31 July 2023.
    • The department’s website will be updated to reflect these changes.
    • Please ensure that your systems, training, and instructional material incorporate the updated dairy product category codes.
    • From 31 July 2023, when raising a new request for export (REX), you must only use product and category codes shown in Attachment 2.
