Changes to egg cut codes (2018-02)

Date of issue: 10 January 2018

Date of effect: 31 January 2018

Attention:

  • Industries—Australian Egg Corporation Limited
  • Export registered egg manufacturing establishments
  • Registered licensed exporters and EDI users of egg and egg products
  • Department of Agriculture and Water Resources—Central and regional offices

Purpose

To notify export manufacturers, exporters and EDI users of changes to some egg cut codes and product descriptions.

Summary of key points

  • From 31 January 2018, the current list of egg cut codes will be reduced to make it easier to select codes that match the correct Australian Harmonised Export Commodity Codes (AHECC) with your product.
  • Some existing cut codes will be consolidated, removed or re-named to better represent the type of product.
  • The revised codes will be in place against affected establishments by COB 30 January 2018 and the codes for egg and egg products will be published on our website.
  • This change should have no impact on the accuracy of our government to government certification, particularly as the product will be accurately described and reflect export and importing country requirements.

Actions required by exporters and permit issuers

The egg product codes for EXDOC users webpage will be updated to align with codes listed in Table 1.
