2011-56 - Plant Export Operations - Manual of Importing Country Requirements (Micor)

5 December 2011

This Industry Advice Notice is to inform exporters of the introduction of a new information management system that brings together the importing country requirements of Australia’s agricultural export trading partners on to one single platform.

This new information management system is the Manual of Importing Country Requirements or Micor and will replace the current Phyto database used by Plant Export Operations.

What is Micor?

Micor is a web-based database with standard web navigation to search for content on importing country requirements for plants and plant products (and other agricultural export products).

To use Micor and view the data for Plant Exports you do not need any specific software on your computer. You do need a connection to the internet using any standard browser eg Explorer, Firefox, Safari etc. Micor can also be accessed using mobile devices with internet connection.

You will be able to:

  • search importing country requirements;
  • subscribe to the site to receive email notifications when conditions for countries or products that interest you have been amended;
  • print content relevant to your exporting needs;
  • save content in a secured read only format of content relevant to your exporting needs.

Timeframe for delivery

The content from the current PHYTO database has been reviewed and information deemed to be current and correct has been transferred into Micor Plants. Micor Plants will ‘go live’ on the 12 December 2011.

The content that was freely available in Phyto will also be freely available on Micor Plants, subject to review and accuracy of information.

Information on Protocols will also be available but only through a secure area of Micor and as a result a logon and password will be required to view the restricted content. Users will need to go to the Micor homepage to apply for access.

To obtain access to Micor you must have an active involvement in the plants and plant products export industries. All applications for access to restricted content on Micor Plants are assessed by the Plant Export Operations.

Who needs to be connected to Micor?

Exporters of plants and plants products and applicable Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) staff will need to be connected to Micor.

Helpdesk and support information

More information about how to use Micor is available on the Micor help page. There will be more information available in the FAQ section on the Micor homepage.

You can contact 1800 337 464 or your regional offices for assistance.

Training

Micor does not require any specific training as it is a standard web navigation tool.

Micor address

Access to Micor Plants is via your web browser at the DAFF website, you can then navigate to Micor in few different ways. You can enter the URL into your browser address line at the top of the browser page or you can access Micor from the commodities home page.

There will also be an auto redirect to Micor from the PHYTO home page for a short period of time.
