2010-08 Wheat Exports to Egypt

26 May 2010

Industry Advice Notice No. G2010/08

Wheat Exports to Egypt

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to provide advice on the conditions for the export of wheat to Egypt.

AQIS has received advice from the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation that the comprehensive risk analysis on Australian wheat has been completed and a tolerance of 0.01% for ergot fungus species has been approved.

All wheat exported to the Arab Republic of Egypt is subject to the following conditions:

  • All consignments to be accompanied by a Phytosanitary certificate issued by AQIS
  • The restriction of a 0.01% ergot tolerance applies to all wheat consignments

The Phyto database has been updated to include these changes.

For further assistance, please contact your regional AQIS office.
