283-2024: Expansion of the approved arrangement class 19.2 automatic entry processing for commodities (AEPCOMM)

Who does this notice affect?

Accredited persons operating under the department’s approved arrangement class 19.2 automatic entry processing for commodities (AEPCOMM), Continued Biosecurity Competency (CBC) providers and Registered Training Operators (RTOs).

What has changed?

From 3 December 2024, the scope of the approved arrangement class 19.2 will be expanded to include the following commodities:

  • 7204 - Ferrous waste and scrap; remelting scrap ingots of iron or steel
  • 7404 - Copper waste and scrap
  • 7503 - Nickel waste and scrap
  • 7602 - Aluminium waste and scrap
  • 7802 - Lead waste and scrap
  • 7902 - Zinc waste and scrap
  • 8002 - Tin waste and scrap
  • 81 - Other base metals; cermets; articles thereof.

These commodities will be added to a new approved arrangement class 19.2 commodity group ‘Gas cylinders, metal waste and scrap’. The BICON case ‘Metal waste and scrap’ will be updated on 3 December 2024 to include AEPCOMM BICON pathways.

In addition to the above, from 3 December 2024:

  • The existing approved arrangement class 19.2 tariff heading 7311 will be added to the new commodity group ‘Gas cylinders, metal waste and scrap’. 
  • The BICON case ‘Gas cylinders’ will be updated to include AEPCOMM BICON pathways.
  • The BICON case ‘Unaccompanied personal effects’ will be expanded to include a new AEPCOMM BICON pathway.
  • The Approved arrangement class 19.2 commodities webpage will be updated to reflect the changes.
