15 July 2025
Who does this notice affect?
Biosecurity industry participants and accredited persons operating under Approved Arrangement Class 19 who seek on-demand details of entries referred to the department.
What has changed?
A new report on the usage and uptake of the Approved Arrangement Class 19 has been added to industry reporting via the Biosecurity Portal for all accredited persons operating under Approved Arrangement Class 19.2. This release complements the cargo status reporting released in November 2024 and the record of service (fees) reporting released in May 2025.
What is included in the reports?
The new report enables accredited persons to view details of the usage and uptake of Approved Arrangement Class 19.2. The reporting includes:
- entries lodged under Approved Arrangement Class 19.2;
- entries that were eligible under Approved Arrangement Class 19.2 but were assessed by the department; and
- lodgements for improvement.
Some of the potential benefits include:
- Reduced enquiries to the department: Self-service reports decrease the need for calls and emails to the department to obtain the information you need.
- Greater awareness: Visibility of Approved Arrangement Class 19.2 helps identify ways to improve processing, reducing timeframes for consignments referred to the department.
- Improved access to consignment data: Supports both the department and industry to better monitor emerging and changing biosecurity risks.
This report delivers on commitments to improve consignment visibility for industry and were developed as part of the Simplified Targeting and Enhanced Processing Systems (STEPS) Program. STEPS is an investment in the department’s imported cargo Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems and business processes to enhance Australia's biosecurity risk management by creating a faster, simpler and more integrated cargo clearance system.
How to access the reports
The reports are available via the Biosecurity Portal for eligible myID users via a ‘Industry Reporting’ tile.
Biosecurity Portal Administrators within selected organisations can manage their team’s access to the reports.
