404-2025: REMINDER - new ‘System notifications’ webpage for IT outages relating to biosecurity import systems going live on Friday 12 December 2025

5 December 2025

Who does this notice affect?

All Biosecurity Industry Participants subscribed to receive Import Industry Advice Notice notifications from the department.

All Biosecurity Industry Participants who utilise / engage with the departments import-related IT systems for the management of imported cargo, conveyances and inspection booking services, including those who subscribe to receive email notifications for departmental Import Industry Advice Notices.

What is changing?

From Friday 12 December 2025, biosecurity import system outage notifications will no longer be published as Import Industry Advice Notifications (IIANs) on the department’s existing IIAN webpages. Instead, these notifications will move to a new dedicated ‘Systems notifications’ webpage on the department’s website from Friday 12 December 2025. The process and requirements to subscribe to receive these email notifications is also changing – further details below.

The department previously published an IIAN advising of these upcoming changes on Friday 28 November 2025 – see 399-2025 New ‘System notifications’ webpage for IT outages relating to biosecurity import systems going live on Friday 12 December 2025 for further information.

Where will I find the new notices and how do I subscribe to receive email notifications relating to them?

The new webpage will go live on the department’s website on Friday 12 December 2025. The department will publish an IIAN once the new webpage goes live.

Biosecurity Industry Participants seeking to receive email notifications relating specifically to biosecurity import system outages are encouraged to subscribe to this new service prior to the go-live date. This can be completed now via the department’s website https://subscribe.agriculture.gov.au/subscribe - under the ‘Import News’ Category, select ‘Import System Notifications’.

NOTE: Subscribers of the department’s notification service for ‘IIANs’ will still continue to receive notifications relating to biosecurity import system outages until Saturday 31 January 2026 (inclusive). These subscribers will also receive IIANs relating to broader importing topics as normal.

From Sunday 01 February 2026, Biosecurity Industry Participants who are subscribed to receive email notifications for IIANs will no longer receive notifications relating to biosecurity import system outage notifications, and must have subscribed to the new ‘System notifications’ service to continue receiving these.

Further information

The department will publish a subsequent IIAN on these changes following the go-live on Friday 12 December 2025.
