Canine ehrlichiosis awareness resources

Download and print our free ehrlichiosis materials and spread the word to dog owners about the dangers of ehrlichiosis. 

Veterinary hospitals and clinics are encouraged to display these resources in their waiting and consultation rooms, as well as making the fact sheets available to clients either in hard copy or on your website.

All councils are encouraged to provide these resources on their websites, at their offices, information centres, parks, and recreation areas.

The bin stickers are designed to be printed on durable material and fixed to noticeboards, rubbish bins and other suitable places. Their purpose is to remind dog owners that they need to provide an appropriate tick control treatment for their dog if they are in the Northern Territory, Northern areas of Western and South Australia and North Queensland.

If you are part of a dog and rescue rehoming organisation, ensure all existing and new dog owners are aware of the need to protect their dogs against ehrlichiosis, particularly if they reside in or are travelling to a brown dog tick area.

During winter many people escape the colder weather of the southern states and head north with their dogs. These resources aim to inform travellers about the risk of ehrlichiosis and how they can protect their dogs while travelling.

Hunters are often out with their dogs in heavily bushed areas and hunting dogs may be more at risk of bites from a brown dog tick. Hunting dogs should receive tick protection and be checked regularly for ticks.
