The Imported Food Consultative Committee (IFCC) is the principal consultative committee for the department and the food and beverage importing industries to consider practical and strategic food related issues. The aim of the IFCC is to provide the department and industry with a consultative forum to ensure that effective food safety and compliance outcomes are delivered without unnecessary impediments to trade by facilitating efficient and effective imported food regulation.
The IFCC is part of a wider consultative framework between the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, in which the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Cargo Consultative Committee (DCCC) is the principal advisory forum for the department and the cargo handling and importing industry. The DCCC is a committee for the department and the international trade and international logistics service providers industries to consider practical and strategic biosecurity related international trade/logistics issues. Another industry consultative committee of relevance to the IFCC is the Biologicals Working Group.

- Fresh fruit and vegetable imports
- Local processor
- Imported food for further processing
- Imported food for retail sale
- High value, low volume imported food (i.e. speciality products)
- Industry association representative
- Appointed analyst representative
- Customs Broker representative
Frequency of Meetings
The IFCC meets a minimum of two times per year.
