National Biosecurity Forum

The National Biosecurity Forum brings together key stakeholders to:

  • reflect on progress to strengthen Australia’s biosecurity system
  • discuss challenges, opportunities and innovation
  • hear from the Australian Government on efforts to prevent, respond to and recover from pests and diseases
  • strengthen and expand partnerships at the national level.

It is held every two years on behalf of the National Biosecurity Committee.

2025 forum

Planning is now underway for the 2025 forum.

2023 forum

The 2023 forum was held on 5 April 2023.

It focused on:

  • stronger partnerships and a shared biosecurity culture
  • new opportunities and challenges
  • natural pathways and invasive species
  • integration supported by technology, research and data.

We received more than 1350 registrations nationally and internationally. Participants heard from experts across government, industry, community groups and education.
