Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise exporters of planned outages for the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) Export Documentation System (EXDOC) and Next Export Documentation (NEXDOC) system.

Summary of changes and key points:

The department has planned EXDOC and NEXDOC maintenance.

To ensure there is no disruption to your consignments, please do not lodge Request for Permits (RFPs) or Request for Exports (REXs) during the below periods:

Who does this notice affect?

All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned maintenance period.

All shipping agents or operators of maritime conveyances who will be required to report pre-arrival information during this planned maintenance period.

All clients who will be required to make an online payment during this planned maintenance period.

We have completed the final report on the policy review for the importation of zoo hippopotamuses and their semen from approved countries.

Who does this notice affect?

Industry stakeholders including importers, approved arrangements, freight forwarders and brokers that deal with imported cut flowers and foliage.

What has changed?

Consignments of fresh cut flowers and foliage found to be infested with live insect pests have the option to be directed for onshore fumigation and release prior to pest identification by an entomologist for peak periods and select holidays in 2024.

The department will be conducting network maintenance from 23:00 Friday 09 February to 03:00 Saturday 10 February 2024 (AEDT).
