All shipping agents or operators of maritime conveyances who will be required to report pre-arrival information during this planned maintenance period.

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to notify all Plant Export Management System (PEMS) users, including plant export clients and exporters of expected system maintenance and associated outages.

Summary of changes and key points

PEMS will be undergoing scheduled maintenance and will be unavailable:

Date of issue: 11 October 2023

Date of effect: 14 – 15 October, 18 October, 20 – 21 October and 25 October 2023.

Attention:

Registered dairy exporters, manufacturers, agents, freight forwarders and approved export permit issuers.

Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) - Central and Regional offices.

Purpose

To notify Next Export Documentation (NEXDOC) system users of planned outages in October.

Who does this notice affect?

All importers and customs brokers who lodge consignments of green coffee beans under tariff 0901.1 to the department for biosecurity assessment, and biosecurity industry participants and accredited persons operating under the department’s class 19.2 automatic entry processing for commodities (AEPCOMM) approved arrangement.

Who does this notice affect?

All clients required to use the department’s Biosecurity Import Conditions System (BICON) during this planned outage.

Information

To support system maintenance, BICON will be unavailable from 23:00 to 23:59 Saturday 14 October 2023 (AEDT).

Action

Clients are advised to await completion of this maintenance period before attempting to access this service.

All importers of plants, cats and/or dogs who will be required to use the Post Entry Biosecurity System during this planned maintenance period.

Information

The outage to the Post Entry Biosecurity System (PEBS) will no longer occur. The maintenance will be rescheduled for a later date.
