How to register and access NEXDOC
NEXDOC (Next Export Documentation) is our system for managing export documentation, including permits and certificates. You can only use NEXDOC if your commodity has been introduced into the system.
How to access NEXDOC
There are three ways to lodge export documentation requests in NEXDOC:
- NEXDOC online service portal
- free, direct access for those registered as exporters
- best for businesses that want to manage their own documentation without extra software
- please note some functionality will not be available in the portal, such as the ability to transfer a record to another business.
- third-party software
- ideal for high-volume exporters or businesses needing integration with internal systems
- register as a Client Group Administrator (to manage your group) or Client Group Member (to lodge on behalf of an exporter)
- check that your software provider is accredited and supports your commodities.
- export agent
- can lodge documentation for you
- please note you still need to register as an exporter if you own the goods.
How to register
To access the NEXDOC system you will need to register.
To access the NEXDOC system:
- create an online services account
- choose a registration option:
- Create a Client Group – if you lodge via third-party software or manage the export process for others
- Register as an Exporter – if you own the goods. Exporter registration also gives you access to the NEXDOC portal for direct lodgement.
Important: if you own the goods and intend to lodge via software, you must register as both an Exporter and a Client Group Administrator.
Additionally, for some commodities individuals will have the option to register as an Approved Export Permit Issuer. For more information please visit NEXDOC help.

Additional features of registration
My printer
You can apply to use your own printer to print documentation from the NEXDOC system via either the exporter or client group registration. Make sure when applying, your printer meets the required printer requirements.
Printer requirements
If you are printing your own certificates, your printer must:
- be located in Australia
- be a duplex laser printer
- support at least 600dpi.
If you use software and need any assistance with mapping printers to your software, please contact your software provider in the first instance.
Single electronic window (SEW) integration
As a part of Exporter registration, you can nominate to integrate with the Single Electronic Window (SEW).
SEW in NEXDOC provides exporters a single data entry point for export clearance from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry and the Department of Home Affairs. Through SEW, you can link your NEXDOC entries to the Integrated Cargo System (ICS) and receive ICS Clearance as part of your NEXDOC Request for Export Documents (REX).
Manage Your Account
You can also manage and add users to your account in NEXDOC. For more information, see the NEXDOC Help Guides.
