This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to notify exporters of honey and apiculture products of a planned outage for the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry’s (the department’s) Next Export Documentation (NEXDOC) system.
Approved arrangement documentation will be used during audits conducted by departmental auditors. Arrangements must be updated and approved if any significant variations are made. Significant variations must be sent to halal.exportmeat@aff.gov.au for consideration by the department before implementation.
Significant variations that require approval before they can be implemented include (but are not limited to):
Approved arrangements operators, customs brokers, importers, manned depots, and freight forwarders who are required to book and manage requests for import inspections using the Biosecurity Portal.

The unplanned service disruption to MyGov Digital Identity has now been resolved. Digital Identity/myGovID clients can now access the Biosecurity Portal as normal.

To advise importers of alcoholic drinks intended for retail sale about the requirements for pregnancy warning labelling and to raise awareness of guidance material that has been developed by Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ).

This notice is for importers and customs brokers of horticultural fresh produce.
Import conditions for fresh melon fruit from the Republic of Korea (Korea) will be published on BICON on 1 August 2023. Fresh melons permitted to be imported into Australia from Korea are oriental melons and rockmelons.

Importers (including air and sea passengers and crew) of fresh mustard stick and fresh betel leaf (Piper betel), freight forwarders, brokers, biosecurity industry participants who hold an approved arrangement, Pathway Operations – Air & Sea Travellers and Detector Dog handlers, Pathway Operations – Mail, Gateway Facilities, Pathway Operations – Cargo Operations (Inspection, Assessment and Client Contact Group).
This Biosecurity Advice notifies stakeholders of the formal commencement of a review of biosecurity import requirements for fresh pomelo fruit for human consumption from Vietnam.
We expect to release the draft report for public consultation in early 2024.
We have completed a final report for the fresh pomelo (Citrus maxima) from Vietnam risk analysis. We will now verify that Vietnam can meet the import conditions.
