This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to notify all Authorised Officers (AOs) using PEMS to lodge QSR inspection results that there will be a change to mandatory requirements relating to sub-package type from 19 August 2023.

This Biosecurity Advice notifies stakeholders of the formal commencement of a review of biosecurity import requirements for fresh melon fruit for human consumption from Japan.

There have been numerous plant pest/disease detections over the last 10 years in northern Australia, many of them significant in terms of costs (financial and social) to industry, the environment, and the public (through extended/costly responses).
AWTG 04-23 noted an update from all jurisdictions following endorsement of the poultry standards by all agriculture ministers. Implementation of the standards and guidelines including timeframes will take place at the state and territory level having regard to the specific operational environments of each jurisdiction. Implementation will be reported via the AWTG Annual Report.
