This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise of the additional registration requirements in line with the GACC’s (General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China) updated phytosanitary requirements for exporting logs to China.

168-2023: Inner Harbour 29 at Port of Port Adelaide is now a biosecurity entry point for freight containers and general goods

Who does this notice affect?

Vessel operators, shipping agents, importers, brokers, first point of entry (FPOE) operators and others.

What has changed?

The Port of Port Adelaide FPOE determination has been amended to designate ‘Inner Harbour 29’ as a Biosecurity Entry Point (BEP) for freight containers and general goods. These classes of goods are now permitted to be unloaded at this location.

167-2023: Department of Home Affairs Jetty, Neutral Bay at Port of Sydney is now a biosecurity entry point for non-commercial vessels

Who does this notice affect?

The yachting industry, vessel operators, shipping agents, first point of entry (FPOE) operators and others.

What has changed?

The Port of Sydney FPOE determination has been amended to designate ‘Department of Home Affairs Jetty, Neutral Bay’ as an additional Biosecurity Entry Point (BEP) for non-commercial vessels, non-commercial vessel baggage and non-commercial vessel waste. These classes of vessels and goods are now permitted to arrive at this location.

Urban search and rescue taskforces

We have developed the Urban Search and Rescue Taskforces – Biosecurity Guidelines. The guidelines provide information and guidance on Australian biosecurity requirements for returning search and rescue teams deployed overseas, and international taskforces entering Australia to assist with emergency responses and humanitarian aid.
