Approved arrangements operators, customs brokers, importers, manned depots, and freight forwarders wishing to book and manage requests for import inspections using the Biosecurity Portal.
Clients who require:

All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned maintenance period.
Due to scheduled maintenance, the Cargo Online Lodgement System (COLS) will be unavailable from 23:00 Friday 12 May to 01:00 Saturday 13 May 2023 (AEST).
Clients are advised to await the completion of this maintenance period before attempting to access this service.

All importers of plants, cats and/or dogs who will be required to use the Post Entry Biosecurity System during this planned maintenance period.
Due to scheduled maintenance, the Post Entry Biosecurity System (PEBS) will be unavailable from 23:00 Thursday 11 May to 00:00 Friday 12 May 2023 (AEST)
Clients are advised to await the completion of this maintenance period before attempting to access this service.
A team from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry are currently undertaking a joint plant health survey with the Timor-Leste Directorate for Quarantine and Biosecurity (DNQB) for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.

MyGovID Digital Identity is currently experiencing an unplanned service disruption. As a result, some clients may be unable to lodge new inspection booking request, cancel an existing booking request or modify or cancel a confirmed booking through the Biosecurity Portal.

This notice is for all airlines, freight forwarders, pet transport companies, preparing veterinarians, and importers of cats and dogs to Australia from countries other than New Zealand and Norfolk Island.
This advice supersedes the notice 24-2021: Permits to import cats and dogs to Australia and clarifies acceptable behaviour when interacting with the department whether in person, attending departmental offices or via communication methods such as phone, email and/or text.
