Purpose

To notify seafood stakeholders of detained consignments in China due to eCert issues.

Exporting cosmetics

China has changed its product registration requirements for cosmetics.

As part of an application, the Chinese Government requires a certificate attesting to the cosmetics being produced according to good manufacturing practices (GMP), in accordance with international standards, from the competent authority of the exporting country.

Who does this notice affect?

Approved arrangements operators, customs brokers, importers, manned depots, and freight forwarders who will be required to book and manage requests for import inspections using the Biosecurity Portal during this planned maintenance period.

Information

To support a system release, the Biosecurity Portal will be unavailable from 20:00 Saturday 11 February to 03:00 Sunday 12 February 2023 (AEDT).

Independent research on agvet chemicals monitoring data in Australia

In June 2022, the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) conducted an open tender process and commissioned the Australian Environment Agency Pty Ltd (AEA) to undertake research on sources of agricultural and veterinary (Agvet) chemicals monitoring data in Australia.

The final report was submitted to the department in October 2022.
