All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned maintenance period (e.g. clients required to use the Cargo Online Lodgement System (COLS)).
To support a system release, there will be a scheduled service disruption (service degradation) to the COLS between 23:00 to 23:45 Sunday 19 October 2025 (AEDT).

All importers of plants, cats and/or dogs who will be required to use the Post Entry Biosecurity System during this planned maintenance period.
Due to scheduled system maintenance, the Post Entry Biosecurity System (PEBS) will be unavailable from 23:00 Thursday 16 October to 01:00 Friday 17 October 2025 (AEDT).
Clients are advised to await the completion of this maintenance period before attempting to access this service.

To support a system release, there will be a scheduled outage to COLS from 23:00 Monday 06 October to 02:00 Tuesday 07 October 2025 (AEDT).

The National Biosecurity Committee (NBC) met on 9 and 10 September 2025 in Melbourne. The meeting was co-chaired by Justine Saunders (Deputy Secretary, Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (department)) and Rachel Chay (Deputy Director General & Chief Biosecurity Officer, Biosecurity Queensland, Department of Primary Industries).
