This notice applies to airlines, aircraft operators and their contracted services (third party disinsection treatment providers).

What has changed?

The Conveyance Arrivals Modernisation (CAM) Program developed an enhanced Aircraft Disinsection Information (ADI) application introducing:

This notice is of interest to importers of nut species imported as seed for sowing, and their customs brokers.

What has changed?

The plant pathogenic bacterium Xylella fastidiosa (Xylella) is Australia’s highest National Priority Plant Pest (NPPP).

Who does this notice affect?

All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned maintenance period.

All shipping agents or operators of maritime conveyances who will be required to report pre-arrival information during this planned maintenance period.

Information

Due to scheduled infrastructure maintenance, the following systems will be unavailable from 20:00 Saturday 21 May to 07:00 Sunday 22 May 2022 (AEST).

77-2022: Services Restored: Sunday 15 May 2022 – Numbered points in BICON import permits

Who does this notice affect?

All clients reviewing import permit PDF documents issued from the department’s Biosecurity Import Conditions (BICON) system.

Information

The issue causing numbered points to display out of sequence in some import permit PDF documents has been resolved.

Numbered points in BICON import permits will display in the correct sequence for import permits issued after Sunday 15 May.

Action

No action required, the issue has been resolved.

Latest Updates April 2023

The ADI application has been updated to enhance the functionality of record keeping, with the aim of delivering a more precise record of an aircraft’s Disinsection status, across a stable platform. The user interface of ADI remains largely unchanged.

The key enhancement is found in the “Update an Existing Aircraft” and “Add a New Aircraft” pages.

Under previous settings, it was mandatory for users to enter the date and time of a Pre-Embarkation Disinsection (PED) treatment.

2022-30: Horticulture Exports Program – In-transit cold treatment certification requirements for exports to Japan

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise industry of the in-transit cold treatment (ITCT) certification requirements for export of grapes and citrus to Japan.

Summary of changes and key points

Exporters, shipping companies, freight forwarders and plant export Authorised Officers (AOs) must consider the following when exporting ITCT grape and citrus consignments to Japan. In future, this information will no longer be provided in annual IANs. Clients will need to refer to the relevant workplan for ITCT requirements.
