111-2022: Importance of accurate recording of microchip numbers in cats and dogs intended for import to Australia

Who does this notice affect?

This notice is for all pet transport companies and importers of cats and/or dogs to Australia.

What has changed?

The department has noticed an increase in microchip numbers being incorrectly recorded on permit applications, RNATT laboratory reports and RNATT declarations. The incorrect microchip number is often not identified until the cat or dog is close to their date of export.

All clients attempting to submit permit applications and access invoices using the Department’s Biosecurity Import Conditions (BICON) system during this planned outage.

All clients who will be required to make an online payment during this planned outage.

All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned outage.

112-2022: Unplanned Service Disruption: Tuesday 28 June 2022 - Cargo Online Lodgement System (COLS)

Who does this notice affect?

All importers and customs brokers attempting to submit lodgements in COLS.

Information

The Cargo Online Lodgement System (COLS) is currently experiencing an unplanned intermittent service disruption. This is preventing some clients from being able to submit lodgements.

The department is investigating the issue as a priority and apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Action

Clients are advised to re-attempt submitting their lodgements after 5 minutes if an error is encountered.

2022-41: Horticulture – End of winter window pathway (1 May to 1 September 2022) for cucurbit exports to New Zealand

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise industry of the upcoming closure of the 2022 winter window arrangements for the export of cucurbits to New Zealand and the registration and accreditation requirements for continuing exports of cucurbits after 1 September 2022.

This notice applies to airlines, aircraft operators and their contracted services (third party disinsection treatment providers) on an Approved Arrangement with the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (the department) or Compliance Agreement with the Ministry for Primary Industries New Zealand (MPI), as current users of the Aircraft Disinsection Information (ADI) database.
