Due to scheduled maintenance, the department’s Biosecurity Import Conditions (BICON) system will be unavailable from 23:00 Saturday 09 April to 03:00 Sunday 10 April 2022 (AEST).

Action

Clients are advised to complete and submit any in-progress import permit applications prior to the commencement of this planned outage period.

Information

To support scheduled maintenance, the Maritime Arrivals Reporting System (MARS) will be unavailable from 23:00 Friday 08 April to 00:30 Saturday 09 April 2022 (AEST).

Action

Clients are advised to await the completion of this maintenance period before attempting to access this service.

Australian Agricultural Traceability Alliance

 

The Australian Agricultural Traceability Alliance (Alliance) is a coalition of partners, who have a deep interest in enhancing national agricultural traceability. The Alliance is working to accelerate Australia’s journey in exceeding $100 billion of farmgate output by 2030 and beyond.

The Alliance aims to ensure strong engagement across industry, governments and broader supply chain stakeholders, and provide the right and successful foundations for traceability initiatives.

Australian Government response to the Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport References Committee report:

Introduction

On 14 November 2019, the Senate moved that the Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport References Committee inquire into the Federal Government’s response to the drought occurring at that time, and the adequacy and appropriateness of policies and measures to support farmers, regional communities and the Australian economy.

The Inquiry Report was released on 21 October 2021 and made 20 recommendations.
