You can only bring your cat or dog into Australia under strict import conditions. These safeguard our agriculture, environment, native and domestic animals, and our people. They are based on rigorous scientific analyses to manage biosecurity risks.
The department is responsible for protecting our animal health. We place a high priority on education and awareness to prevent pest and disease incursions, and we ensure robust and tested response plans are in place should an outbreak occur.

This notice affects all clients who receive directions issued by the department from the Agriculture Import Management System (AIMS).
The department will be delivering a change on Saturday 02 October 2021 to the Agriculture Import Management System (AIMS) which will remove the Biosecurity Officer name from issued directions.

All clients required to use the department’s Biosecurity Import Conditions (BICON) system during this planned maintenance period.
The department is conducting I.T. infrastructure maintenance from 21:30 to 21:35 Friday 01 October 2021 (AEST).
BICON will still be available during this time, however users will not be able to complete the following operations:

The department is revising the inspection requirements for new, rural bound consignments of prefabricated office, accommodation units and caravans.
Consignments of new, rural bound prefabricated office, accommodation units and caravans will now be subject to a rural tailgate inspection, in lieu of a full unpack inspection.
