Combating IUU Fishing and Promoting Sustainable Fisheries in Southeast Asia Program

Sustainable fish production and consumption in Southeast Asia is critical to the livelihoods and food supply of people in the region. Overfishing threatens marine biodiversity and the sustainability of global fish stocks and is exacerbated by illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

The Australian Government’s Combating IUU Fishing and Promoting Sustainable Fisheries in Southeast Asia Program (2022 to 2026) aims to support Southeast Asian countries to combat IUU fishing by improving:

2021-42: Horticulture – Applications for the export of table grapes to protocol markets including New Zealand

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise industry that applications are now open for the accreditation of farms and packhouses, and the registration of treatment facilities, to export table grapes to protocol markets including New Zealand for the 2021–22 season.

Animals on vessels

Live animals onboard vessels may introduce serious diseases to Australia such as African swine fever, screw worm fly, rabies, Newcastle disease, and foot and mouth disease, and therefore pose a risk to the health of Australian animals, people and environment. Animals include cats, dogs, fish, birds, ruminants, pigs, rodents and reptiles.
