MAA 2020-22: China: Fish: New government certificate for the export of non-viable seafood to China: Guide to raising a request for permit (RFP)

This MAA provides information on the amended government certificate (health certificate) for the export of non-viable aquatic products to China, to be used from 1 January 2021, and guidance to raise an RFP on the amended supporting template.

All offshore treatment providers required to lodge treatment certificates.

Information

An unplanned outage is preventing clients from accessing the online BMSB declaration and treatment certificate lodgement portal.

Action

The department is investigating the issue as a high priority and apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Agri-Business Expansion Initiative

The Australian Government is investing $85.9 million to help Australian agribusinesses expand and diversify their export markets through the Agri-Business Expansion Initiative (ABEI).

Announced on 23 December 2020, ABEI is part of a long-term strategy and commitment by the government to help achieve sustainable growth and resilience in our agribusiness exports.

ABEI is jointly delivered by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry and Austrade, in close collaboration with industry.

Who does this notice affect?

All shipping agents or operators of maritime conveyances who will be required to report pre-arrival information during this planned outage.

All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned outage.

All importers of plants, cats and/or dogs who will be required to use the Post Entry Biosecurity System during this planned outage.

Who does this notice affect?

Clients in the import and shipping industries—including freight forwarders, importers and customs brokers—associated with importing goods that require BMSB treatment during the BMSB risk season (goods shipped between 1 September 2020 that arrive in Australian territory by 31 May 2021 inclusive).
