162-2020 - Scheduled Outage: Monday 28 September to Tuesday 29 September 2020 – DAWE applications

Who does this notice affect?

All clients required to use Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment web-based applications during this planned maintenance period.  

Information

The department will be conducting network maintenance from 23:00 Monday 28 September to 06:00 Tuesday 29 September 2020 (AEST).

During this time, DAWE applications may experience outages ranging from 15 to 60 minutes. These applications include, but are not limited to:

161-2020 - Service Disruption: From 16:00 to 23:59 Sunday 27 September 2020 (AEST) - BICON

Who does this notice affect?

All clients required to use the department’s Biosecurity Import Conditions (BICON) system during this planned maintenance period.

Information

Due to scheduled infrastructure maintenance, BICON users may experience several intermittent outages from 16:00 to 23:59 on Sunday 27 September 2020 (AEST).

Action

Users are advised to frequently save any in-progress permit applications during this maintenance period.

Food safety management certificates

Certain food imported into Australia must be covered by a food safety management certificate. Imported food that require this type of certificate will be listed in the Imported Food Control Order 2019.

See a current list of food requiring this certificate.

The certificate is evidence that a food has been produced through a food safety management system. This system must have appropriate controls in place to manage food safety hazards.

  • Cargo Online Lodgement System (COLS)
  • Integrated Cargo System (ICS)
  • S-Cargo
  • Self-Assessed Clearance (SAC)

Information

The issue preventing messages from transmitting between DAWE systems and the Integrated Cargo has now been resolved.
There may be messaging delays while the backlog of stuck messages is being processed.

159-2020 - Imported fresh whole kiwifruit from Italy and France

Who does this notice affect?

The Italian Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Policies, the Ministry of Agriculture, Agrifood and Forestry of France, and exporters, importers and retailers of fresh whole kiwifruit from Italy and France.

What has changed?

The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (the department) has updated the approved cold treatment schedules1 for the management of Mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata) on fresh kiwifruit from Italy and France.

Information

An issue is preventing messages from transmitting between the Integrated Cargo System (ICS) and the following DAWE systems:

Who does this notice affect?

Importers of:

  • processed stockfeed, stockfeed ingredients, additives and supplements
  • pet food, including bird food and fish food
  • aquarium, hatchery or aquaculture feed.

What has changed?

We’re making it easier to apply to import a range of processed plant and animal-based feed and their ingredients to Australia.

Importers can now access the following new and updated resources and forms when applying for an import permit.
