Who does this notice affect?

All internal and external stakeholders who may require Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment regulatory services between the department’s shut down period.

What has changed?

The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment Canberra Office will close from COB Thursday, 24 December 2020 and will re-open at the commencement of business on Monday, 4 January 2021.

Organic and biodynamic produce - Consultation on domestic organics regulation

Consultation

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) has engaged with the organics sector on how to improve Australia’s domestic organic regulatory framework. This included consideration of potential regulatory and non-regulatory options for reform, with a view to better understanding the sector, supporting industry growth, and improving consumer confidence.
