Who does this notice affect?

Importers of:

• processed stockfeed, stockfeed ingredients, additives and supplements
• pet food, including bird food and fish food
• aquarium, hatchery or aquaculture feed.

What has changed?

We’re making it easier to apply to import a range of processed plant and animal-based feed and their ingredients to Australia.

Importers can now access the following new and updated resources and forms when applying for an import permit.

Australian importers and overseas manufacturers and exporters of processed plant-based stockfeed.

What has changed?

When you apply for a permit to import processed plant-based stockfeed to Australia, we must often undertake a physical inspection of the proposed offshore facilities to confirm they meet our biosecurity requirements for processing and exporting the product to Australia.

What has changed?

Effective 17 September 2020, all uncooked imported pig meat phone enquiries and related uncooked imported pig meat email contact with the department are to change as follows:
