Who does this notice affect?

Exporters of non-prescribed goods - poultry and ratite products and animal by-products required to meet avian influenza importing country requirements.

Purpose

This notice directs exporters to where they can find more information about the export certification affected by the avian influenza outbreaks in Victoria.

2020-04 - COVID-19 – Notifying the department of positive COVID-19 cases at establishments preparing and/or storing food and other goods (non-prescribed goods) for export

Who does this notice affect?

Industry stakeholders involved in exporting non-prescribed goods that are audited by the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (department) (or third parties on behalf of the department) to meet importing country requirements (includes pet food, rendered products, skins and hides, blood products, animal by-products for technical/pharmaceutical use).

131-2020 - Amendment of profile for tariff 0904: Pepper of the genus Piper – crushed or ground or whole and Dried or crushed or ground fruits of the genus Capsicum or Pimenta

Who does this notice affect?

Importers and customs brokers associated with importing goods classified under tariff 0904.1 - Pepper of the genus Piper – crushed or ground or whole and 0904.2 - dried or crushed or ground fruits of the genus Capsicum or Pimenta.

What has changed?

Due to an increased risk associated with stored product pests including khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium); the community protection profile for goods in tariff 0904, will be amended. 

130-2020 - A new framework for biosecurity treatments

All biosecurity treatment providers across Australia, particularly methyl bromide fumigators.

What is changing?

Issue

The fundamental process for achieving an effective biosecurity treatment is the same regardless of the jurisdiction the treatment is performed in and the intended destination of the goods.

Despite this, the current requirements for conducting biosecurity treatments are different across the import, export and domestic pathways.
