2020-30 - Horticulture Exports Program – Applications for the export of apples and pears to protocol markets

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise the Tasmanian apple and pear industry that applications are now open for the accreditation of farms, packhouses and cold stores, and registration of treatment facilities to export to protocol markets for the 2020–21 season.

Quarantine Regulators Meeting

The Quarantine Regulators Meeting (QRM), established in 2008, is an annual forum that connects government agencies responsible for or involved in biosecurity and border management.

The QRM provides an opportunity for biosecurity agencies worldwide to discuss innovative topics, emerging issues, and strategies to support biosecurity risk management.

Who does this notice affect?

Stakeholders in the import and shipping industries—including Master Consolidators, vessel masters, freight forwarders, treatment providers, Biosecurity Industry Participants, importers, customs brokers and principle agents— associated with shipping or importing goods that require increased intervention during the 2019-20 BMSB risk season.

What has changed?

On 31 May, the department will cease it measures for the 2019 -20 BMSB risk season.
