Who does this notice affect?

All importers and customs brokers who are required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment using recent versions of Google Chrome.

Information

A recent update to Google Chrome is preventing some Cargo Online Lodgement System (COLS) users from submitting lodgements using this browser.

Who does this notice affect?

Exporters of non-prescribed goods - poultry and ratite products and animal by-products required to meet avian influenza importing country requirements.

Purpose

This notice directs exporters to where they can find more information about the export certification affected by the avian influenza outbreaks in Victoria.

Who does this notice affect?

Industry stakeholders involved in exporting non-prescribed goods that are audited by the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (department) (or third parties on behalf of the department) to meet importing country requirements (includes pet food, rendered products, skins and hides, blood products, animal by-products for technical/pharmaceutical use).

When you import food, you must provide us with certain information.

We use this information when inspecting and testing food imports. This is part of our Imported Food Inspection Scheme (IFIS).

Completing a Full Import Declaration (FID)

You must lodge details of all shipments of imported food.

Do this in the Department of Home Affairs' Integrated Cargo System (ICS).

Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium) is exotic and considered the 2nd most threatening plant pest for Australia.

While there is no immediate threat to human health or pets, if khapra beetle were to establish in Australia, it would pose a serious threat to many of our agricultural industries.
