All clients required to use the department’s Biosecurity Import Conditions (BICON) system during this planned maintenance period.
Due to scheduled infrastructure maintenance, BICON users may experience several intermittent outages from 16:00 to 23:59 on Sunday 24 May 2020 (AEST).
Users are advised to frequently save any in-progress permit applications during this maintenance period.
Biosecurity conditions apply to all commodities imported into Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Island under the Biosecurity Act 2015 and subordinate legislation.

The department is incorporating fresh table grapes from the USA onto the Compliance Based Intervention Scheme (CBIS). This change is scheduled to take effect on Friday 15 May 2020.
The Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA) entered into force on 5 July 2020. The agreement put in place reduced tariffs for exports of live male cattle. The live male cattle quota is managed on a first-come, first-served (FCFS) basis until the access amount is exhausted.
