The expert panel for the import risk analysis (IRA) for apples from the US Pacific Northwest states met in Canberra on 29-30 July 2009.

In 2008, we commenced an import risk analysis for fresh apple fruit from the Pacific Northwest States (Oregon, Idaho and Washington) from the United States of America (USA) and released a draft report in 2009 for public consultation.
Import conditions for fresh apples from New Zealand are available on the Biosecurity Import Conditions system (BICON), making the import of these goods possible.
