Australia has committed to reach net zero emissions by 2050. This target is ambitious and will require significant action across the economy. Contributing to this aim will help Australian agriculture take advantage of market shifts, as the world transitions toward net zero.
International capacity development specialists representing multiple areas of the department had a busy October undertaking several biosecurity scoping missions and delivering technical training activities across the Asia-Pacific region.

All importers of plants, cats and/or dogs who will be required to use the Post Entry Biosecurity System during this planned maintenance period.
Due to scheduled infrastructure maintenance, the Post Entry Biosecurity System (PEBS) will be unavailable between 23:00 to 23:30 Tuesday 19 November 2024 (AEDT).
Clients are advised to await the completion of this maintenance period before attempting to access this service.

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to notify all Plant Exports Management System (PEMS) users, including plant export clients, exporters and authorised officers, of outages to the PEMS system due to a PEMS production upgrade and planned departmental maintenance.
