Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise exporters of a planned outage for the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) Next Export Documentation (NEXDOC) system.

Summary of changes and key points:

The department has planned maintenance to the departmental financial system for end of financial year affecting NEXDOC availability.

Purpose

This export advisory notice (EAN) is to notify industry that the 2024 25 live animal exports cost recovery implementation statement (CRIS), will be published on the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) website (www.agriculture.gov.au) in July 2024.

134-2024: New requirement for ISTA certification in relation to sampling 25,000kg seed lots of Poaceae seeds

Who does this notice affect?

Importers and customs brokers of Poaceae seeds for sowing that have undergone purity testing pre-export

What does this change relate to?

In many cases, seeds for sowing imported to Australia require mandatory purity testing in accordance with International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) methodology, to confirm freedom from exotic weed seeds and contaminants.
