IAN 2024-17: NEXDOC – planned outages

Attention:

Registered eggs exporters, manufacturers, agents, freight forwarders, and approved export permit issuers.

Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) - Central and Regional offices.

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise exporters of planned outages for the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) Next Export Documentation (NEXDOC) system.

2024-37: Plant Export Operations – Export systems expected maintenance outage

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to notify all Plant Exports Management System (PEMS) users, including plant export clients, exporters and authorised officers of expected system maintenance and associated outage.

Summary of changes and key points

Due to maintenance outages PEMS will be unavailable for the following periods:

133-2024: Scheduled Outage: Sunday 30 June to Monday 01 July 2024 – BICON impacted, COLS, OPS, MARS and PEBS unavailable

Who does this notice affect?

All clients attempting to submit permit applications and access invoices using the department’s Biosecurity Import Conditions System (BICON) during this planned outage.

All clients who will be required to make an online payment during this planned outage.

All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned outage.

Sweet potatoes levy and charge rate change from 1 July 2024

Notice issued: 21 June 2024

From 1 July 2024, the levy and charge on sweet potatoes produced in Australia and sold or exported will change.

The new levy and charge rate for sweet potatoes will be 0.5 per cent of the sale price or free on-board value. This change reduces the existing marketing component from 1 per cent of the sale or free on-board value to 0 per cent.

131-2024: Expansion of the approved arrangement class 19.2 automatic entry processing for commodities (AEPCOMM)

Who does this notice affect?

Accredited persons operating under the department’s approved arrangement class 19.2 automatic entry processing for commodities (AEPCOMM), Continued Biosecurity Competency (CBC) providers and Registered Training Operators (RTO’s).

What has changed?

From 20 June 2024, the scope of the approved arrangement class 19.2 has been expanded to include the following commodities:
