2024-33: Horticulture – Applications for the export of Tasmanian apples and pears to protocol markets in 2024-25

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise the Tasmanian apple and pear industry that applications are now open for the accreditation of farms and packhouses and cold stores, and the registration of treatment facilities to export apples and pears to protocol markets for the 2024-2025 season.

Who does this notice affect?

All foreign force personnel, brokers, commercial operators, and biosecurity industry participants involved with the onshore clearance of foreign force military equipment imported via air or sea freight for use in the Pitch Black 2024 (PB24) Combined Military Activity (CMA).

120-2024: Proposed Changes to Import Conditions for New and Aged/Used Oversize Tyres

Who does this notice affect?

This notice is of relevance to importers, manufacturers, customs brokers, agents, and associated biosecurity industry participants involved in the importation of new and aged/used oversize tyres.

What changes are proposed?

The department is proposing an update to the biosecurity import conditions for new and aged/used oversize tyres to address the continued detection of biosecurity risk material during oversize tyre inspections.

The proposed changes are:

All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned maintenance period.

All shipping agents or operators of maritime conveyances who will be required to report pre-arrival information during this planned maintenance period.

All clients who will be required to make an online payment during this planned maintenance period.
